Waves, Waves, Waves

When the surf is pumping… everything stops.

There is suddenly more sick days than usual at work. Any meeting or agenda is replaced with an appointment with the ocean. With a recent morning of westerly winds off the mountains, we where lucky enough to have the coldest May morning in 50 years… and when it blows westerly, you might also be getting one of the best waves of your week, and maybe your life.

May is the surfers month.

Four our sessions. Large open caverns that you can fit yourself in. The pounding of saltwater in anticipation of that set wave. The friendly banter of locals, whilst a hoot can be heard for the last amazing ride. Byron Bay is a surfing town, and when the surf is good…

Do not get to work on time.
