Positive Change for Marine Life – Collaborative Artist Project

unspecified unspecified-1Positive Change for Marine Life was founded in Australia in 2012 on the principles of creating long-term profitable change
in regards to marine conservation issues worldwide.
In January 2016 they launched their ‘Collaborative Artist’ project. Bringing together local and international artists to raise awareness around marine conservation issues through creative mediums such as visual art, photography and film.
Partnering artists will be producing one-off artworks and selling numbered and signed limited edition prints to raise
awareness and vital funds for Positive Change for Marine Life to support us in continuing their vital work.
Their first Collaborative Artist is Laura Luke.

Laura resides in Byron Bay, armed with an array of pencils, a surfboard and her vivid curiosity for experience, Laura’s
visual commentary portrays her profound fascination for the human condition whilst fueling her sense of connectedness with herself, others and her environment.

“The ocean has encapsulated me with her rhythmic flow, I find myself in awe of her restorative touch that gifts me with the courage to boldly waltz the earth with an open heart. Growing up as a curious little detective, I was eagerly drawn to the rock pools of my hometown. Peering into the rippled windows, I was captivated by the intricate existence that seemed to dance so effortlessly below the surface. I longed to join this dance…”

“My visual commentary portrays my profound fascination for the human condition whilst fueling my sense of connectedness to others and the natural world. The beautiful creatures that roam our earth are my central focus of exploration. I illustrate animals to personify and illuminate the very nature of human existence.”
I believe art can play a vital role in conservation and activism through its power to evoke curiosity and engage society with
political and cultural dimensions which challenge the status quo. I feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to
collaborate with Positive Change for Marine Life to form a collective narrative. Their vision for marine conservation and
a sustainable future goes beyond their passion; it’s a platform for change that whole-heartedly embodies their core beliefs
by providing accessible information to educate and empower the greater community.
I believe in Positive Change for Marine Life and the human capacity to create positive change as we strive toward a more
sustainable future.”
All one-off pieces have limited edition prints numbered and signed by Laura for release via the Positive Change for Marine Life website http://www.positivechangeformarinelife.org/ . Proceeds will go toward helping us to continue their vital work in Australia and internationally.
