RAWÂ Byron Bay is an indie arts organisation run by artists for artists.
The main objective  of RAW is to focus on spotlighting indie underground talent to the public within an international forum. To give The Creative’s of the Northern Rivers the love, support and opportunity to shine an independent and dynamic environment.
Every second month they hand select approximately 30 artists in film, fashion, music, visual art, photography performing art hair and makeup for a one night only live exhibition. As one of these selected artists they are given their own space to create whatever they like as creatively as they wish to best represent their craft and what inspires them.
Importantly artists can sell their work or just network and there is no commission taken from anyone!!
 RAW was founded by three artists from the States and these showcases currently runs in 80 cities in the US, Australia, Canada and recently the UK. RAW Byron Bay will be the second region to launch in Australia!
The benefit of this network is that the artists work is seen in all of those cities using RAW’s online network and they are invited to showcase as a guest artist in any of those cities and have their craft received by a completely different audience. These showcase’s worldwide are seen by a minimum of 600 guests which for some creatives is more than they could have hoped their work to be seen over several years.
The process is a beautiful one from beginning to end as the confidence and ownership of the emerging artist blossoms. RAW’s mission is to provide the artists with the tools and resources to assist them in promoting themselves and their craft independently of galleries and agencies. They do this by providing a videographer and photographer who will produce a 1-2 minute video of their work, the event and an interview with them talking about their work and some professional head shots to do with what they wish to.
