The Arty Party, a free one-day arts festival event for children and families returns to Spinks Park in Lismore during the school holidays 11-4pm, 6 October! Explore and create art together with colourful performing characters, drawing games, cubbyhouse construction, dancing, percussion, chalk drawing on pavements, reading, dress ups, and crafts.
Presented by 100 Wonder Place, the Arty Party had its first outing last year in Spinks Park and was a massive hit with hundreds of families attending. The three local, creative women behind the one-day festival – Claudie Frock, Valley Lipcer and Gabrielle Griffin of Roundabout Theatre– want to keep The Arty Party a free event so if you are in a position to ‘pay it forward’ to families in our community who couldn’t afford to attend if there was an entrance fee, please support their crowd-funding campaign at pozible.com/project/the-arty-party.
“The Arty Party is such a joyful creative family event, we’d like to make sure everyone in our community can continue to access it,” said organiser Gabrielle Griffin “We provide the whole set-up including entertainment, activities, arts and crafts materials for free. Local organisations including the Lismore Regional Gallery, Lismore Council, Tourism & Events, TAFE and Lismore Business Panel have come on board to help and we’re hoping our crowd-funding campaign will enable us to keep the Arty Party a free, public art event for everyone.”
