Thomas “T.Moe, T. Mossian, T. MuckLuck” Campbell has spent many years immersed and embedded in surf culture. A celebrated filmmaker (The Seedling, Sprout and The Present all via his lensmanship), an outstanding and unique artist and a superb photographer, capturing static his journeys for film, Thomas’ work covers multiple genres. Stitched collages of fabrics, paper and bubble wrap sit alongside typographic artistry amongst an array of wonderfully unique photographic images, all with at least a subtle nuance of an alternative surf lifestyle.
The art critic can appraise, the article can be written, the words can be heard but, as with all art, to experience is to experience.
Thomas Campbell’s collection of work, entitled Slide Your Brains Out, is now gracing the walls of Art Park (5/11 Banksia Drive) and will be hanging around until 15th October. Surf it is, but enjoyable for all.
