Join the Cause to ‘Bag it’

Dec 14, 2012 Ocean Clean Up Byron Bay by Tristan Bayer - 08 MUTPS beach trash
On Saturday the 16th of February join Positive Change for Marine Life at Threeworlds in Byron Bay for an evening of film, live music and feasting at the ‘Movie Under the ‘Plastic’ Stars’ event to launch Phase II of their ‘Honour the Ocean’ marine debris campaign.

Since May of 2012 they have collected over 150,000 pieces of trash from Main and Seven Mile beach in the Byron Shire. “This event will showcase the vital work that we have been doing in the shire to eradicate anthropogenic waste at its source and ensure that it doesn’t end up in our oceans. The amount of litter that we find on a daily basis on Byron’s beaches was the catalyst for us to initiate this campaign. We believe that the local community can work together to ensure that the Bay is the most ‘waste conscious’ tourist town in the country and set a precedent for other towns to follow”, said Karl Goodsell, founder of Positive Change for Marine Life. The event will also be the launching pad for ‘Coal Seam Gas (CSG) Free Byron Bay’, so come along and find out how you can become a steward for clean water, air and land.
