The Gypsy Karavan will roll in to town this week, and we are blessed to have two of Europe’s hottest Gypsy bands perform for us in the Byron shire!
The cheeky and very dancy GIPSY.CZ come to us direct from Prague with their addictive GYPHOP: a fusion of Gypsy music, hip hop , r’n’b and pop. GIPSY.CZ have been astounding people all over the world and they will be playing at The Byron Community Centre this Thursday 3 March – with the chairs taken out offering a big dance-floor !
From Instanbul , the masters of Gypsy percussion – HAREM’De – will transport you to the heart of Turkey. They are world renowned for performances that are charged with electricity and bring with them the past and future of Gypsy music…from soulful traditional songs to energetic dance styles, all underpinned by spectacular percussion. HAREM’De will be leading a fiery dance-fest with special local guest Passion Flamenco, at Coorabell Hall this Saturday 5 March.
