Sunday Safari presents… Rüfüs, Sampology and L D R U

Winter is almost over and that can only mean one thing – Sunday Safari is back for another glorious season of summer sounds and carefree vibes. Not one to disappoint, the first Safari brings to you three incredible acts. One of the most talked about trios of this year, Rüfüs will be playing live, Byron Bay favourite Sampology will be bringing back his AV show and talented newcomer L D R U will be making his first appearance this September.

With their highly anticipated debut album, ATLAS, just released, the boys from Rüfüs have sold out multiple tours in Australia over the past 18 months with their indie-dance tunes and electric sets. With four EPs under their belt, their live shows began to draw a cult following, playing festivals including Parklife, Homebake, Field Day, Big Day Out, Peats Ridge, Fat as Butter and Stonefest. They made enough noise to get the attention of the late Australian dance legend, Ajax, who signed the band to his label, Sweat it Out in early 2013. High rotation singles, main stage festival appearances as far away as Moscow and many hours locked in their home studio/dungeon, writing their debut album, featuring all new material – including singles ‘Take Me’ and ‘Desert Night’ which reached #1 on hype machine. The album’s first single, Take Me, has taken off locally, reaching the #2 most played spot on Triple J. While the smooth follow up single Desert Night took out the #1 spot on the hype machine charts and earned the guys an invite to play Art Love festival in Moscow, June 2013. Clearly, these guys are just getting started and Sunday Safari can’t wait to see what’s in store for September 15th.

Sunday Safari also welcomes back a crowd favourite, Sampology. A legend in himself, his ‘Super Visual AVDJ’ series has earned him an undeniable reputation as one of the leading Audio Visual DJs, playing a number of the world’s greatest music, film and arts festivals including Big Day Out, SXSW, Big Chill Festival, Berlin Music Festival and more. Following his debut ‘Super Sounds’ EP release in 2011, Sampology released his debut album, Doomsday Deluxe in June 2012. The solo artist has been busy making even more new and exciting tracks and this time around, the man will be performing as part of his ‘Stimulation AV Tour’ which is set to explode this Safari.

And finally, newcomer L D R U is sure to impress, taking influence from sound geniuses such as Flume this 19-year-old Sydney boy has been working hard creating a myriad of infections dance tracks. The most prominent one being the remix of Lorde’s ‘Love Club’, a tranquil yet edgy take on the popular song. His latest and original track called ‘The Tropics’ has been heavily requested on Triple J and has been hailed by Nina Las Vegas as having one of the most unsuspecting drops you will ever hear. Prepare for something new and exciting this Sunday Safari.
