Anticipation

When your a surfer, it’s always about the next wave, the next swell, the next memorable moment. But also rubbing it into your mate if they missed that dream session.

The last 2 days have been the quiet before the storm, with head high waves pouring into the open beaches. Conversation is turning to the days to come, as a strong SE swell is building from an offshore low pressure system. The anticipation is in the air.

After an already amazing May for surfers in Byron Bay. Will the next couple days be as good?

Today, the first of June, it’s the start of winter. Frosty mornings of hooded jumpers and thick socks, your full-length steamer at the ready with numbing toes as you scamper for the warm water currents. It’s the time of year that makes you feel alive.

Looking forward to those big calls over the coming surfing days…

Johnny
