To Shoot or Not to Shoot?

I love riding waves and I love to capture moments. Which one should take precedence?

I’m not entirely sure but the week just gone was certainly a test. Standing up there in the dunes for two afternoons in a row whilst fast righthanders bend and spit down the line made me question the validity of lurking behind a camera when others were owning it and getting owned.

I had fun waves today but they were a far cry from what went down the other day. Perhaps I would’ve blown every take off and got dropped in on four times by different and more senior ‘watermen’? Perhaps I would’ve got my pit of the year? No one knows, no one cares!
