This Is Northern New South Wales

M Jack Bee at Doublebassment Studios… Shhhhh

Here is a special night, in a special place. We’ve had to hold off telling people for the unusual places we have used for this show in Byron Bay.

Doublebassment Studios is a new space in the old Norco Milk Factory at the south end of Jonson St, Byron Bay. It is the most incredible building in Byron, and this Sunday will see an intimate and beautiful night of indie music.

First up will be EMMA-LOUISE. This girl is out-of-this-world sweet. Last time we saw her play she had a herd of label types slobbering at her feet, and with good reason. She has penned some incredible songs, and performs with the ease and comfort that makes it very easy to slip right into her world.

Then DANNY ROSS will take the “bassment” on with his darkly-uplifting-quirk-folk. One of the most original players on the Byron scene and certainly the most profound guitarist!! His voice has been on high rotation on Triple J with a song he crafted with Sydney producer The Immigrant. His solo show tells his tale of life love loss, with a severe sense of humour and a powerful voice, he’ll sail us onward and upward.

The intelli-gentleman of wit, ED G, will grace us with his Jeff Buckley meets Lou Reed delivery, playing a small selection of his emerging prolific back catalogue. A long standing performer on the Brisbane circuit, Ed breathes passion with every song, from twisted bitter beauty to soaring solo rock and roll.

AND THEEEEN…

M. JACK BEE, will saunter soberly down the stairs to stir up a mix of loops like it’s 1989, ballads like it’s 1969, and a celebration of life, like its 1999. After an extensive tour in December for his EP ‘In Loops’ he has 16 copies left! Mr Bee will be showing lots of new tracks, and old ones he’s recovered. These random rooms create the best vibe, so he’ll be having a good time as you will be too!!!

Doors are at 7pm, tix on the door. It’s BYO. (No corkage fee!) Doublebassment Studio’s is located behind the Akido Centre across from Mitre 10.

Get there early as there is very limited space!!

And don’t tell anyone.
